The kids returned to school today after having A WEEK OFF for Thanksgiving Break.
Within 10 minutes of walking in the door from school...
She passed out.
We did zero homework tonight.

She did not have to ask twice -
She did a fine job and vacummed both bedrooms.

A few days ago the external hard-drive where I keep EVERYTHING made a weird noise. I unplugged it from the computer. I rebooted and plugged it back it. No noise, no anything.
Everything is GONE
It was confirmed from several recovery centers that it is beyond repair, they can retreive 0%. They actually told me 0%.
I didn't stop crying for days.
When I hear people say 'oh that's why I back up here and there and everywhere' - I want to punch them in the face. I still can't believe it.
Reluctanly - it's time to start over.

Home Sweet Home
Being away for 10+ days makes you appreciate HOME... your shower, your coffee, your bed.
Our East Coast trip was incredible & memorable - but it's so nice to be back.
SCHOOL IS IN FULL SWING
I am a mother to a Middle Schooler - when did that happen? There are couples walking around holding hands, girls wearing make-up and HUGE bras... it's weird.
Luke is adjusting great. They are working on his schedule and he will be transferring in to a new math class within the next week. For electives he has German and Woodshop - how fun.
Syd is in FIRST grade, loves it.
Lots of football and cheer coming up that's for sure. August is over, that means the season starts and we have real games now. That is way more exciting than conditioning and scrimmages.

Today the boys played against Huntington Beach.
I got there about an hour into it - straight from Syd's game.
As I was walking up I watched Luke catch a pass and run it in for a touchdown.
It. Was. Awesome.

Beat the Heat
"Why don't you come on over and let the kids swim..."
We headed over pretty much right away. Before we left the kids put on their suits.
That way when we pulled up they could say 'hi' and get directly in the pool (no need to waste time changing when you could be swimming).
The kids were entertained for HOURS

Beach Picnic
My Mother called me early in the day to remind me of our picnic dinner at the Beach.
Honestly I was not looking forward to it. I was feeling sorry for myself, dreading the drive and juggling my schedule.
But, my sisters were going and the other kids too ~ we were in.
We loaded up the wagon with our dinner, blankets and a baby:
We chose the grassy hill to eat dinner over the sandy beach (and the stairs).
The kids begged but we convinced them the wagon would never make it down or back up for that matter.
*Thank you Mom - Dinner was delicious. We had lots of salads, couscous, chicken and fresh guacamole. We took it slow on our walk back to the car...

Double Rainbow
The rain let up this afternoon and we had a HUGE full rainbow right out our front door.
Then we noticed the double rainbow...
All I could think of was TOSH.O and the rainbow guy.

FUNdraiser
Last night was the annual Casino Night / Poker Tournament / Silent Auction for the Little League.
I worked pretty much the whole night so I didn't participate in any of the 'FUN'. Not to mention... my better half was home with the kids so that was a major bummer.
I would have had way more fun if I stayed home with my family...
Lesson learned.
