So I FINALLY cut into my Pop Garden fabrics a few weeks ago. I sent Syd off to school with a new little 'pack-back'.
I actually followed a pattern which I am SO bad at. I did stray off of it a bit like using heavier interfacing, quilting the straps and adding a decorative / constructive stitching to the opening. I also used a snap instead of a button because I wanted Sydney to be able to open it herself and easily.
But I was proud of making it thru. IF I every make one again there still more changes I would make but all-in-all, I love it! The animal print was used for the bottom and the lining because it is AWESOME at hiding the dirt.
The other project that I've been mulling over is that Fancy Dress ... I should have final details and a matching hair flower finished up by tonight so it can ship in the morning.
I've been going back and forth on this. That is one thing that is helpful with directions. A wide-open design invites to many options. Hmmm... sash? criss-cross straps? tea length or to the knee? extra ruffle? extra full? OH Goodness!
Once this is off I want to make a little 'something special' for my girl, for our trip. 2 weeks now- YEAH!!
