Still Alive

Well isn't that totally embarrassing...

All that talk about listing resells, samples and then POOF  - I disappear.

I can't even tell you how much I miss our little boutique community and selling in our group.  They were so inspiring and motivating.  I miss my customers even more.  I miss seeing pictures of their sweet babies in something I made special for them.

Anyhow, I logged into eBay the other day (it has been over a YEAR since I did anything there).   

It's incredibley slow and quiet now.  I listed anyway...

There are only a few things.  I have more to list but I'm taking it slow first to see how things do.  I plan on listing the rest by the end of the week or early next week.

Better late than... you know

So it's a few weeks into the baseball season -  far past Opening Ceremonies but I promised.

I was even so daring (or foolish) to do a twirly full skirt.  This won't stop her from climbing fences, running the bases or rolling around in the dug-out. 

Note to self: put leggings or shorts under.

We have a team pizza party tomorrow after his game, she'll look cute.  If I actually remember to take my camera out of the bag and get some pictures I will share.  

p.s. I'm SO excited to sew for Spring!

I had a few hours today...

I used it to sew! 

It's silly.  The moment I realize that I have time to sew for a while, ALL sorts of ideas flood my mind.  

This is when I get nothing done.  Thankfully I had this all cut out (even ruffled and shirred) so I finished up this dress: 

I snapped a quick picture and started cleaning up.

When I took Sofia (that's what I called her) off the dress form I thought it would be fun to slip it back on. 

This time - INSIDE OUT...

My next project will be something 'baseball'. 

More specifically, 'Yankee Baseball'.

Every year I've made Sydney a baseball outfit for Opening Ceremonies.  It's in less than 2 weeks so I better get a move on...

   

Bits & Pieces

Since working on that last little dress - I'm hooked. 

I've pulled down some fabrics and cut out their little shapes.

And recently, I've actually been thinking about Etsy.... 

Any advice?  Words of wisdom?  Experience out there?   Sure, I've bought things off Etsy and it was nothing but a pleasent experience.

I love the presentation that eBay allows - the story you can tell with your listing.  Come to think about it, I would probably save HOURS not fussing with HTML.

I'm torn - but I can always do both!

If only they grew on trees...

Today I went to get my haircut.  It's a treat that I look forward to.  My hairdresser is awesome, I've know her all the way back to 7th grade. 

I was lucky enough to get her last appointment of the day before her LONG maternity leave. 

She is having her baby girl in 10 days (and has a 14-month old at home!!).  When my babies were new they lived in sleepers and onesies.  Therefore, when gift-giving I always think -  blanket.  Well, must be what everyone else thinks too.  I probably got 250 blankets when I had Sydney.  

So I decided this morning (I know... crazy last minute) that I would make her little AVA a dress.  I'm sure she will grow out of this in no time.  She won't be walking or even standing to prance around for attention... but I couldn't help myself. 

It has a shirred back, soft lace straps and will pop on easily.  I had no time to make the bloomers... and I had the cutest polka dot fabric to use to.  She could wear another pair of bloomers or with leggings or even with cuffed up jeans...  yum, little girls are so cute!

So this was my morning project for  Ms. Ava ...
